Subject: MY CRIME

Having sat through not one, not two, not three, but four court proceedings in
the past year I find it ironic that Kathleen Fisher of Morrison and Foerster
continues to portray herself as a defender of the poor. It escapes Ms.
Fisher, as much as it does resident crawdaddy Alex McDonald, that I am a
member of the poor, designated HIV positive, "a person of color" (as if that
had any currency in San Francisco's patently racist gay community) and have a
right to openly criticize Pat Christen for ripping off the community she
supposedly serves. Having experienced a move-in eviction in late 1999 and
discovered they are, in fact, NO SERVICES not even for my x-roomate Michael
Page who is disabled due to AIDS drug consumption and gets around in a wheel
chair. Kathleen Fisher has stated she is working in the public interest. Like
Henry Ford telling the press "what's good for Ford is good for the country"
Kathleen would have us believe that the promotion of pharmaceuticals at the
expense of low income housing is in the public interest. Perhaps what is most
distressing is that amidst all the hysteria occurring in San Francisco's gay
community concerning the failure and corruption of the local AIDS Industry
people actually believe that putting members of ACT UP San Francisco in jail
is a good thing.

In the meantime one can walk around the Castro and see the Quasimodos and
other freaks deformed from AIDS drugs proclaiming a new lease on life. I
continue to wait for the day when gay identified men, such as myself, are
honored for living creative lives. At forty-six I can safely say I have
outlived everybody including Dick Pabich, Tony Leone and Steven Genden
without the help of Martin Delaney, Pat Christen or Kathleen Fisher. One
might say in spite of these well meaning ghouls, rip-off artists and trolls.
Having lived the life of an artist for over twenty years I find San Francisco
AIDS Foundation's upcoming FAG ART campaign to be particularly galling.
Artists need places to live. Places they can be guaranteed not to be kicked
out of at the whim of some greedy real estate investor. So why is the SFAF
spending over half a million dollars on FAG ART workshops? Honey I don't need
a workshop to have some Gap queen in Calvin Klein hairspray telling me how to
make art. I need a place to live.

That, my friends, is the bottom line. PG&E, the City government of San
Francisco, Willie Brown, the executives of Glaxo Wellcome, President Bush,
the Pentagon et. al. continue to rip off the public and people like the
members of ACT UP SF continue to be blamed for everything from the Jon Benet
child murder to the plight of millions dying in Africa from starvation and
civil war.

My crime continues to be that I am a homosexual who refuses to die of AIDS.
My mistake was believing that San Francisco is a place for gay men to come
and find refuge from the bigotry and stupidity of racist heterosexist
America.

Subject: Fwd: Hate mail on community cycber boards about ACTUP from "StopActupsf.org"

I am forwarding this email to you in hopes that you will send this group an email, letter or note letting them know that they are absolutely wrong in their continued attacks and hate ad campaigns against another activist group. Let them know that their hate, verbal violence and the silencing of an opposing view will not be tolerated and is not welcomed.

They say that "over 1400 individuals and organizations" have joined ranks with them, but yet they have to send out spiteful emails and run similar ads in the gay newspapers to flush more people out of the woodwork. Their website states that they only have around $3000.00 in donations, but yet they can purchase space for two full-page and one smaller hate ad in several newspapers, a website, money for flyers, a booth at Castro Street Fair, etc.

If this group is so damn concerned about the welfare of its gay brothers and sisters, why do they not use their time constructively by spending their donations to help the poor and homeless, and the gay men who need medical attention, but can't afford it? This is simply another group who is riding the coattails of the swirling controversy surrounding HIV, AIDS and the illnesses of their gay brothers to raise money for an ad hoc organization. Shame...shame...shame!

Consider this:

The WHO claims that about 2.5% of the population of the Dominican Republic is "hiv+" (ie,200,000 people).The WHO also estimates that about 5000 people died from "AIDS" in 1999. In the US, we have about 800,000 "HIV+" and about 40,000 die each year. So, with all of our life-saving drugs (which Americans have been told are the REASON for drops in deaths), we have 4 times the cases and 8 times the deaths, i.e., the death rate per case is twice that of the Dominican Republic.
